The idea of this painting came from another one I have called «Barras Nutritivas» (Nutritive bars). On this new one I tried to add some meaning on it.
This painting represents my story in Puebla where I’ve been living for the last 17 years.
Once I choose the section of the map that I wanted, I made an abstract map based on its main streets.
Afterwards I scanned it and added color it on the computer checking the composition and color balance.
With the color image, I drew the graphics on it to check that it would look fine.
When the image on computer was OK, I traced the map on the canvas and started adding one color at the time.
Once I had all the canvas in colors, I checked them and see if there was any that I should replace in order to make them all match.
Los últimos pasos fueron aplicar los grafismos con carboncillos, fijarlos con laca, firmarlo y por último ponerle el sellador.
The graphics with charcoal, the varnish and the sealant were the final steps.
El nombre del cuadro se debe a que en la Ciudad de Puebla los códigos postales comienza a partir del 72000.
The name of this painting it’s due to the ZIP Codes used in the City of Puebla… starts on 72000.
