Mis vacaciones por San Francisco y Los Ángeles fueron muy divertidas y disfruté al máximo los 9 días que duraron, hubo mucho paseo, compras, algo de descanso, muy buenas comidas y mucha risa. Es por esto que me animé a incluir en este post una pequeña compilación y reseña de lo mejor que hice por allá y espero les guste y les sirva:
-SAN FRANCISCO-
Paseo en bicicleta: Definitivamente algo que deben intentar. En 4 horas recorrimos lugares muy interesantes con vistas espectaculares que caminando quizá no nos hubiera dado tiempo.
Union Square: Elegimos hospedarnos en esa zona y creo que fue lo mejor, está céntrica y muy agradable.
Clam chowder: Lo probamos en el Fisherman’s Wharf, es un referente de la ciudad.
Chinatown: Uno de los barrios chinos más grandes que he visto, muy colorido y concurrido.
SFMoMA: Recomiendo altamente este museo. Es grande y las horas se pasan volando.
Tranvía: Este antiguo medio de transporte es todo un ícono y hace más pintoresca esta cosmopolita ciudad, tienen que disfrutar de la experiencia de viajar en uno de ellos.
Palacio de las bellas artes: Un bello parque al aire libre que data de 1915.
Alcatraz: Antigua prisión militar llena de historia, bien vale la pena ir. La vista de la bahía desde ahí es espectacular. Fuimos de noche y eso creo le agrego un misticismo y atmósfera especial.
Lombard Street: Esta peculiar calle es la más sinuosa del mundo.
Alamo Square/Painted ladies: Parque situado en una colina que permite una espectacular vista de la ciudad. Frente se localizan las famosas casas estilo victoriano.
Ayuntamiento: Ubicado en el espacio abierto del Civic Center, su cúpula es la quinta más grande del mundo.
Union Square: Elegimos hospedarnos en esa zona y creo que fue lo mejor, está céntrica y muy agradable.

-LOS ÁNGELES-
Universal Studios: Bien vale la pena dedicarle un día a este parque de diversiones.
Black Friday: Fuimos al outlet en Camarillo CA. Llegamos el jueves por la noche (8 pm) ya que las tiendas comenzaron a abrir a las 9 pm, si quieres ir después de las 10 pm ni lo pienses, eso es un caos, literal.
Glandale: Descubrimos esta área buscando en realidad un restaurante, nos tocó decorado de navidad y lucía increíble.
Santa Mónica: Caminamos por la 3a calle para recorrer sus tiendas y restaurantes para terminar en el muelle viendo la puesta de sol fue una gran decisión.
Centro de LA: Dénse una vuelta por el Disney Concert Hall (obra de Frank Gehry), luego por el MOCA. En el 2014 se abrirá el BROAD (Un nuevo espacio para el arte contemporáneo).

I really had a great time on my latest vacations in San Francisco and LA. During those 9 days I think we did a lot and that’s why I would like to share some highlights that you may use as a guide if you would like.
-SAN FRANCISCO-
Bike ride: This is something you should consider on your next trip to San Francisco. In 4 hours we had time to go all the way from Fisherman’s wharf to the other side of the Golden Gate, we even had time to make stops in some sights.
Union Square: We choose to stay in that area, very nice and close from everything.
Clam Chowder: No one should leave San Francisco without trying it.
Chinatown: Probably the largest chinese community I’ve ever seen.
SFMoMA: I highly recommend this place. Time flies here.
Cable car ride: Try at least once to take a ride on this iconic way of transportation.
Palace of fine arts: A beautiful structure built in 1915 in the middle of a nice and quiet park.
Alcatraz: Former US military prison. Enjoy a great view of the bay from here.
Lombard Street: The crookedest (most winding) street in the world.
Alamo Square/Painted ladies: This park in located on a hill that brings a nice view of the city. In from of it you can find the famous victorian style houses.
City Hall: The structure’s dome is the fifth largest in the world.
Union Square: We choose to stay in that area, very nice and close from everything.
Clam Chowder: No one should leave San Francisco without trying it.

Glandele: We discovered this area while looking for a restaurant without knowing there’s a cool place called Americana at Brand with a lot of shops and a small plaza with fountains pretty cozy. It was decorated with a lot of lights and christmas ornaments.
Santa Monica: We walked the pedestrian-only third street promenade with a lot of restaurants and shops. Then we went to watch the sunset on the Ocean Ave.
Downtown LA: Take a look at The Disney Concert Hall (by Frank Gehry) and then cross the street to visit MOCA. If you are going on 2014 don’t miss the new space for contemporary art: The Broad.
